Anglian Cross
700AD - 850AD
This cross was found in the Coppergate excavations.
It's made of a copper alloy rather than a high-value metal. It is an early object for Coppergate which is a mainly Viking site. The cross is also an unusual style for Britain and may be from the continent.
It was most likely used as a brooch.
